Usually my snappy answers are more timely...

Soooo...I finally thought of a snappy answer to people who ask me why I don't have a facebook page:

"Facebook makes it difficult for me to maintain the illusion that my friends are interesting and intelligent people."

What do you think?

  1. Facebook makes it difficult for me to maintain the illusion that my friends and I share common interests and aspirations. I saw responses to anti-consumerist, post-growth, collaborative consumption, sustainable living type posts dwindle to nothing. Either nobody cares about things that interest me, or nobody thinks that Facebook is for talking about things that matter. Either way, I realized I didn't need it and dismissed myself.

  2. i'm comfortable with the fact that not all my friends are interesting or intelligent. enough of them are to make me keep my facebook, however.
